Overview
Who We Are
The North Texas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure was founded in 1991. With the support of our signature fundraiser, the Komen North Texas Race for the Cure® this year we will grant over $800,000 dollars toward the fight against breast cancer by funding grassroots education, screening and treatment programs as well as national research.
Up to Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Affiliate is dedicated to fighting breast cancer locally in Collin, Denton and Grayson counties.
Grants are awarded each year to local hospitals and community organizations that provide innovative outreach and awareness programs for medically underserved women, from mammograms & treatment, to education in order to help with early detection. At least twenty-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Affiliate fund national breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Research and Grant Award Program.
